Countdown to Summer Sale

Darvin® Furniture Odds & Ends Sale Will Include Power Motion Options, Huge Selection of Rugs

Anticipation of one-of-a-kind deals brings crowds out early

Orland Park, IL, August 14, 2018 – According to Hanny Diab, director of Merchandising for Darvin® Furniture & Mattress this summer’s Odds & Ends Sale, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 19, at the Darvin Distribution Center in Mokena, 19111 Darvin Drive, will feature many items that are part of the most popular furniture trend to hit the market in decades – power motion seating. Along with hundreds of one-of-a-kind deals, he says customers will find traditional stationary sectionals, mattresses and a large selection from the Darvin Rug Gallery.

Odds and Ends Sale - Spring 2018

“Power motion furniture, whether it’s chairs, sectionals or sofas, has proven to be the biggest thing to hit the furniture market in a decade,” Diab says. “We carry a huge selection of these products at Darvin and visitors to the Odds & Ends sale who arrive early, will be able to snatch up some outstanding deals.”

Twice a year, Darvin® Furniture, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store, grants public access to the vast spaces of its Distribution Center and offers customers the chance to pick-up factory overstocks, scratch & dent, floor samples and special offer cancellations items at large discounts, some as much as 80% off original prices.

“Some of the other noteworthy items include a large number of stationary sectionals, a great selection of high-quality rugs from our Rug Gallery, and up to eighty-percent off all sizes of mattresses, including Sealy, Beautyrest, Serta and many other quality brands,” says Diab. “While these are great prices to get such high-quality items, the other benefit of having this sale is simply to open up space so we can bring in new items to our showroom.”

The first Odds & Ends Sale was in 2016. As the word got out about the amazing deals to be had at the Distribution Center, a growing number of shoppers began to arrive well in advance of the doors opening at 9 a.m. The same thing occurred in 2017 and again in May of this year.

According to Darvin Manager Vicky Georgiadis, people start arriving very early to get a place in line so that when the doors open they have the best chance to get at the merchandise. “Each year the crowds get bigger, which seems to be reflecting the growing popularity that comes with finding a great deal.”

Diab says the Odds & Ends Sale has become an event that feels much bigger than a furniture sale. “It really is an opportunity to get a one-of-a-kind item. Since there are no duplicates at the Odds & Ends Sale, once something is gone – it is gone forever,” he says.
