Darvin 96th Anniversary Giveaway Delivers
More Than $130,000 in Prizes
Orland Park, IL, December 13, 2016 – When Denise Moller got the call from Darvin Furniture on November 29, she couldn't believe she was a winner in the annual Darvin Giveaway. Darvin is celebrating its 96th year in business. "I don't enter a lot of contests," says Moller. "This was the first time I'd entered into Darvin's Anniversary drawing."
Darvin Furniture, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store, hosted its annual Anniversary Giveaway celebration on Monday, November 28, 2016. In recognition of its 96th Anniversary, Orland Park Mayor Daniel McLaughlin selected from thousands of entrants and announced the winners' names to a large, energetic crowd gathered at Darvin, 15400 LaGrange Road, Orland Park, IL.
Anyone 21 years of age or older was eligible to fill out an entry form and to have a chance to win a share of more than $130,000 in furniture prizes, including china cabinets, dining sets, bedroom sets, sofas, loveseats, and entertainment sets.
Moller won an Ashley sofa and loveseat. "I cannot wait to see it," says Moller, a Tinley Park resident and Darvin customer. "I'm just so thrilled. I'm unemployed right now and this helps me out so much. It's a great way to end the year."
Everyone visiting the Darvin showroom for the drawing was able to pick up a copy of the 96th Anniversary Catalog, which features thousands of beautiful furniture items, accessories, rugs and mattresses. The fall season has brought a variety of improvements to the Darvin Furniture shopping experience, including easier access via a new entrance on LaGrange Road, as well as a reconfigured parking lot that accommodates the new entrance and soon-to-be-installed traffic light on LaGrange Road.
"Every year we look forward to the Anniversary Giveaway," says Bob McGivney, Darvin Furniture Store manager. "We really appreciate our customers and we are so proud of the collection of quality furniture and mattresses we offer. It always feels great to give back.
"We were happy with the thousands of entrants who participated this year and our thanks go out to Mayor McLaughlin for taking the time to help choose the winning entrants," continues McGivney. "It was great to see so many smiles and I hope our customers were inspired by the 96th Anniversary Catalog."

Darvin Furniture is the recipient of the 2016 Illinois Retailer of the Year Award (See Video) from the Illinois Retail Merchants Association. The award recognizes Darvin for meeting consumer desires, dedication to the community, and loyalty to its employees.
